BIOGRAPHY

Meet Fred Warnby, an accomplished drummer and composer recognized for his adaptability in a wide range of musical pursuits, including live performances, event productions, and organizing vibrant carnival parades. Originally from Skövde, Sweden, Fred now resides in Gothenburg, where he is nearing the completion of his master's degree in improvisation and composition. His recent exchange programs in Copenhagen and Oslo have enriched his musical career, enabling him to collaborate with a diverse array of musicians and broaden his artistic perspective. With a deep commitment to rhythm and innovation, he is music scene.

Fred made the decision in 2019 to relocating to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for a year. While there, he engaged in the study of Brazilian percussion and popular music at the university, collaborating with local musicians to be inspired by their tradition. This invaluable experience profoundly influenced his musical trajectory, integrating Brazilian rhythms into his repertoire, both through percussion and the nylon guitar. Currently, Fred actively promotes cultural exchange by regularly returning to Brazil and inviting esteemed Brazilian musicians to Sweden, fostering a rich dialogue between their dynamic sounds and the different cultures.


Although living in Gothenburg, Fred still plays a vital role in the scene of Örebro, where he directs his own concert series titled "Peace Of Music." This initiative not only showcases local talent but also fosters a sense of community. In addition to his work at the club Örebro Jazz & Beyond, Fred actively participates in the European Jazz Network, attending conferences around the globe to strengthen musical connections across countries. His commitment to the genre and collaboration with international artists highlights his passion for jazz and its cultural significance.
